Conclusion:
In conclusion, this experiment was successful in demonstrating the process of cleaning up an oil spill, as it showed which items would be most effective for the containment and absorption of an oil spill, at a small more relatable and understandable scale. The experiment also clearly laid out the items that would not aid in the clean-up of an oil spill. My hypothesis was incorrect as I overestimated the necessity for containment and I believed too much in the link between containment and absorption. As my data shows, although only 70% of the oil was contained, 95% of the oil was absorbed, therefore it displays that although containment is helpful in the clean up of an oil spill, it is not necessary as long as you have the correct tools for absorption.
