Rosie MacLennan is an Olympic athlete for trampoline and recently one a gold medal in the Olympics for Canada. It was not only one of the gold medals won for Canada but it was also the first gold medal won for Canada in the 2012 Olympics. She has definitely influenced many people from young gymnasts too all the Canadian athletes in the Olympics.

Rosie has been on the trampoline since she was 7 years old. She started competing internationally and was the Canadian national woman’s champion in 2005,2009, and 2011. Her current coach is Dave Ross and her previous coach was Angelo Despostas. She was born on august 28th 1988 in king city, Ontario. The place that Rosie trains at is the sky Riders trampoline place. She is currently living in Toronto and has a major in the bachelor of physical education and health. At the Beijing 2008 Olympics she came 7th with her partner Karen Cockburn, she won a gold medal at the pan American games, second place at the trampoline world championships, gold at the Olympic test event, and finally the big gold medal in the London 2012 summer Olympics. As you can see Rosie is a very accomplished athlete.

Rosie MacLennan has influenced so many people across Canada with her big win at the 2012 London summer Olympics. Not only has she influenced all Canadians but also she has inspired young athletes to thrive. With thousands of young athletes watching her across Canada she influenced these children to work hard and to have faith in the sports that they play. I think this is a very positive influence on Canada. As long as Rosie MacLennan continues to set a positive example for Canada there will be a positive influence on young athletes. Rosie has set a standard for all athletes that do the trampoline and has given them a role model to look up too.

Rosie is not only a very accomplished athlete but she has also accomplished influencing the next generations of athletes too thrive in what they do. As Rosie always says “focus on what you can control, have faith in what you don’t”.
